Thionyl chloride and cyanuric chloride used in chlorination are toxic to the human body, and carbon disulfide is highly flammable and toxic, so its use is generally avoided. The ability to use these chemicals, which other chemical manufacturers are reluctant to use, is the root of our manufacturing strength.
