Glass Barrel Brewing Method

At Winery Aizu, we make wine in 23-liter glass barrels, a rarity in Japan. By using glass barrels throughout the entire process from fermentation to maturation, we are able to create a clean wine that brings out the pure flavors of the fruit without being affected by the aromas and components derived from wooden barrels.
This type of glass barrel vinification is commonly found in Canada and the United States, but is still one of the few vinification methods available in Japan. Our winery is one of the few wineries that have introduced this special technology, and we are proud to offer our customers highly unique wines.
Procurement of raw materials rooted in the local community

When we first opened, we used mainly concentrated fruit juice as our main raw material, but now we emphasize cooperation with local farmers in Aizu, Bandai Atami, Inawashiro, and Yamagata, and purchase fresh grapes, apples, and other fruits directly from them. By using quality fruit grown in the region and brewing in Aizu, we create special wines that cannot be tasted anywhere else.
Production of original wine

We can also create original labels just for you for weddings, various events, birthdays, and other anniversaries, or as original products for your store. We also offer a bottling experience, allowing customers to actually experience a part of the wine making process. You can create your own one-of-a-kind wine as a souvenir or gift for a special occasion.
Workshop tour, tasting and sales
The workshop is open for tours at any time, where visitors can see the actual winemaking equipment and learn more about the characteristics and process of glass barrel winemaking. At the tasting corner, visitors can enjoy our wines and purchase their favorites on the spot.
We look forward to your visit and inquiries.
